Group Litter Membership

Use this form to register multiple litter members from a registered litter of up to 16 rats at once. All registrations will need to be transferred to new owners at a later date, using either the Transfer of Ownership form or the Multiple Transfer of Ownership form. This form is useful for breeders who prefer to register all of their rats from a registered litter before they are placed.

As with the original litter number application, ideally all individual member registrations must be submitted and completed within 6 months from the date of birth of the litter.

To register an entire litter using the Group Litter Membership form:

  1. Download the form here: (Right-click and select "save target as" if the form fails to load in the browser)
  2. On the form, mark the appropriate membership type that applies to you.
  3. Enter your information in the spaces provided for "Breeder's Information" - be sure you enter a correct and current e-mail address, as this is how your rat registration numbers will be sent to you.
  4. Enter the litter information - the litter number and the DOB. If you do not have this information, you will have to contact NARR for them prior to submitting this form.
  5. Enter the information about each rat in the litter to be registered.
    • The name of each rat is limited to 28 characters including any prefix or suffix, spaces, and punctuation.
    • Include information regarding color, markings, and type.
    • Mark pet only as "yes" or "no" depending on if the rat is to be pet only (i.e. mark "no" for rats placed for breeding). If this field is left blank, rats will automatically be assigned as breeding.
    • If there are more than 16 rats in a litter, list them on a separate sheet of paper, using the same information as is requested on the original form.
  6. Print, sign, date, and mail the application with the appropriate fees (if applicable), or you may email the completed, signed form to us.
  7. Your rat registration numbers will be e-mailed to you after the application is received and the information entered into the database.

Please remember: All rats registered this way will be registered as owned by the Breeder. They will then need to be transferred (via single transfer or multiple transfer) to new owners at the time of adoption.
